I can see where it goes but can’t get the old one out to replace it. I need to get it done before I get a ticket. Thanks to all who help.
Yes it has the protector on it but how do you take that off? lol
I have to reach up underneath the handle of my rear door and can’t get it off to save my life.

It most likely has a protective frame over the bulb itself. once you get that off, PULL the bulb out. DO NOT UNSCREW it. The license plate lights do not screw in and out like normal bulbs. you just pull the old one out and pop the new one in.
Go to Jiffy lube or something like them and they will do it for you P.S.go during the day ,,
Take it to a Chevy dealer and have them do it. You have to remove the inner door panel to access the plate bracket and disconnect the electrical. It is a hassle. I found 3 pages in the GM service guide on how to replace it but did not want to clog this page up with it.
