I have a 99' Chevy Tracker that has a slipping transfer case. How do I fix this?

I have a 99′ Chevy Tracker that has a transfer case that is slipping and popping while in 4wd.

IF you buy a used one go to a place that will have the mileage on the t-cases they have in stock and buy a low mileage one. Are you sure its the t-case. Some times its a issue in the front c/v joints or hubs that can give that same feeling!
The best option is buy a used transfer case and have it swapped out. Here’s a website –

you should be able to find plenty to choose from. Odds are a dealer or shop would try to sell you a new or reman. Very costly. Buy a used, much cheaper.
