has any of u actually been off roadin in a suzuki or freelander
Are those French number plates? I assume you have the diesel. Sadly in Texas we can only get the ones with gasoline. Performance is great but I’d rather have torque and economy. I love seeing a Freelander being put to use off road. Good job man!
i like the vids but i hate the music.. dam..
In Europe you can also get the 1.8 liter petrol K-Series engine which is what I had. Brilliant engine but so unbelievably un-reliable
I had one and because of the constant money going out had to get rid because of the 1.8 reliability
can someone tell me if freelander its economy? cause i want to buy a good suv but economy 2! petrol in cyprus its too fucking expencive that’s why!! =P (btw sry about my english but its not so good )
bizde dedeme alacazda
Its a flipping soft Roader Vs a real 4wd.
average 28-32 mpg
Iv just bought a freelander 2, economy is up to 42mpg, and it com es with hill decent controll as standard, …..would embaress these 2,
I actually have a freelander, the 3 doors model.
It is a very nice off road car but it often has a lot of issues specially around the transmission.
It is quite rare to bring it over a 100 000km . But m ine has 150 is till very fine. The secret is to not let it sit in a garage. This lady has to go, go go…
change music or turn off soo crapy ;/
My 3 door, diesel Freelander from 2000 (not the TD4) has the nice reliable Honda/Rover engine (a little weak) but is now over 200 000 Km with the original transmission! What really ruins the Freelander’s transmission (meaning the IRD, viscous coupling and rear differential) are long road journeys at over 140 Km/h, no damage offroading. The only parts I’ve replaced were the right side window elevator, the left side electric window switch, the rear differential support, tires and headlights.
Alla grande
il pilota del freelander รจ veramente triste!!!!
dont compare 2 defrend things….
@VoYTeCTDi Agreed. I just muted this shit.
@ShroomsPower
There’s Freelander available with a start-stop system.
Should be very fuel efficient.
Freelander is missing some ground clearance.
In cross axcel situation its superb.
With a good driver a freelander will come very far.
For real 4×4 a Vitara is much better. Also to prep for 4×4 driving.
But when you take a real Land Rover, The Defender nothing comes even near.
Vitara much better !
the Vitara nots a good off-road driver
I have the new FR 2. it is reliable and with AT tyres, it goes everywhere the hardcore 4×4 goes. True, the ground clearance can be an issue.
Thats Nothing Compared To The Mighty 80′s Series Landcruiser
@4wdLimited that was a stupid thing to say these are softroaders the 80 series cruiser is up with the best of em like the defender and mercedes g wagen a freelander is basically a car with four wheeldrive not an offroader
1st of all get the 3dr version td4, 2nd don’t have a tow ball (less chance of dragging ya tail) 3rd slap ya self some 1/2 deacent set of muds and maybe if ya wanna do deep water a snorkel (maybe a bit ott for the novice 4×4 like dat and there u have it a okish 4×4 that will go a lot more places than a bog standarded freelander
@codprawn > ‘.. the Vitara has all terrains ..’
The 2-door Suzuki Vitara with canvas top is also a bit shorter and lighter than the 4-door Freelander. However, I’d choose the 4-door Suzuki Grand Vitara over either. The Grand Vitara has better 4×4 capabilities than the Freelander and more interior space than the Vitara.
