The 2012 Suzuki Grad Vitara is powered by a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 166 horsepower and 162 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy figures are 19 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. 4WD is option on most of the Grand Vitara models. And while gas mileage may suffer a bit; the Grand Vitara is a very capable off-road SUV. A great feature on the Grand Vitara that is not very common among SUVs is the fact that this vehicle has a large rear door instead of a hatch. The styling is handsome and it’s good to drive, while the interior is well put together and as attractive as the exterior. Unlike many similarly sized 4x4s, the Grand Vitara possesses some genuine off-road ability, so it can cut it in the rough stuff. The downsides are that it lacks refinement and the petrol engines are very thirsty.
